How we make it
Ebony is the densest and most demanding wood we work with. We only use legally traded, documented stock, and a lot of what we buy never becomes a finished piece because of hidden checks.
The pronounced head is cut slowly and lightly, because ebony is brittle at crisp edges, then every edge is softened by hand. We take it past 1000 grit to a true mirror polish before the body-safe seal goes on. Ebony’s subtle streaks make every Nocturne unique.
Why this shape works
The Nocturne is our classic realistic shape: a smooth shaft and a pronounced head whose ridge gives a defined, unmistakable sensation with every movement.
Ebony’s density gives it a satisfying weight in the hand, the 1.55" diameter is full but not extreme, and the wide flared base keeps everything secure.
Every piece is turned by hand from its own blank, so the grain, color and figure of yours will be unique. No two are ever exactly alike.
