Size & Shape: What Actually Feels Good

A wooden dildo is rigid. That makes shape matter much more than it does with silicone, because nothing flexes to meet you halfway. These are the lessons that shaped our five designs.

Usable length

Overall length includes the base and neck, so look at usable length instead. From our own experience and plenty of conversations with customers over the years, more length rarely means more fun. Our designs sit between 5.5” and 6.25” (14–16 cm) usable.

Diameter is the big one

Small differences in diameter feel much bigger than they look on paper. Going from 1.35” to 1.6” is less than a quarter-inch, but it’s a noticeably fuller piece. If you’re new to rigid toys, start toward the slimmer end. That’s why we made the Dawn at 1.35” (3.4 cm) as our beginner-friendly design.

Curves

A gentle curve follows the body’s natural angles and makes it easier to reach the G-spot or prostate. The Arc has a gentle bow, and the Ember a more pronounced one.

Bulbs and heads

A bulbous mid-section or a pronounced head adds distinct sensation on the way in and out, especially in a rigid material. These features are more intense than a smooth taper, so they’re best once you know what you like.

Straight and tapered

A straight, tapering shaft like the Halo is easy to control and easy to ease into. It’s a classic for good reason.

Weight and temperature

Wood is lighter than glass or steel but has more presence than silicone. It also warms quickly to body temperature, and even faster under warm water.
